Dish

Croquetas

High obvious risk

Possible allergens

Milk/dairy, wheat/gluten, egg

Why

Croquetas often contain béchamel, which usually includes milk and butter. They may also contain wheat/gluten and egg, and can be cooked in shared oil.

Questions to ask staff

  • • Do these croquetas contain milk, butter, cream, cheese, or béchamel?
  • • What oil is the food fried in?
  • • Are they fried in shared oil?
  • • Are they prepared near foods containing peanuts or nuts?
This does not guarantee food safety. It helps you spot risks and ask better questions. Always confirm with staff.
Translation & audio

Generate local-language allergy cards and tap-to-play phrases so restaurant staff, hotel teams, and emergency responders can better understand your needs.

Our story

Built from real family experience.

AllergySafe Travel was inspired by our own experience as parents of a young son with dairy, peanut, and lentil allergies.

Like many allergy families, we know how stressful travelling and eating out can be. Every trip can mean researching restaurants, checking ingredients, explaining allergies in another language, contacting hotels and airlines, and being ready in case of an emergency.

Our son carries emergency medication because of the risk of a severe allergic reaction, so we understand how important clear communication and preparation can be.

We are building AllergySafe Travel to help other families and travellers feel more prepared when eating abroad. The goal is not to replace speaking with staff or checking ingredients directly, but to make the preparation easier, clearer, and less overwhelming.

“We are building the tool we wish we had before travelling with food allergies.”
